Project Description:
In a remote area of southern Ethiopia an earthen dam was constructed by a volunteer Lutheran church group, 10-15 years ago. The dam construction was not completed. Due to recent flash flooding, the Boji dam catastrophically failed. The failure entails a 20 foot blowout in the dam. The original design was not tailored to the arid climate or the possible flash floods. A new dam is to be designed.
