Protecting Natural Resources

Take courses in microbiology, chemistry and math and spend time in labs exploring how microbes break down hazardous waste to prepare for your career using engineering to protect natural resources. You will learn how to manage systems that use or impact natural resources, and develop solutions to improve the environment and protect human health.

Degree Roadmap Required course work includes university requirements and coursework common to all options in an BAE undergraduate degree. Students are required to submit a course plan and a statement of how the humanities and social science course requirements complement the technical content of the curriculum and are consistent with the program and institution objectives.

U-Idaho’s engineering senior capstone design program is ranked one of the best in the nation by the National Academy of Engineers. Students get opportunities to solve real-world engineering problems sponsored by industry partners, as well as to showcase their work in the annual Engineering Design EXPO.
