The state of Idaho supports small- to medium-sized manufacturers in the state to become more competitive through a program of technical assistance. This program is funded jointly by the State of Idaho, through contribution of state resources (The Resource Providers) and the federal govenment, through the National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST) in the US Department of Commerce's Manufacturing Extension Partnerships (MEP) program.
The College of Engineering at the University of Idaho contributes to the economic well-being of the state of Idaho through extended education, service, research, and the transfer of new technology. As part of this mission, faculty within the college are available to provide limited technical consulting to local industry in areas of their own expertise. The UI participates in the State of Idaho's manufacturing extension partnership, Idaho TechHelp, as an element of the college's Engineering Assistance Center. UI engineering faculty at each of our resident centers, Moscow, Coeur d'Alene, Boise and Idaho Falls, are available to provide technical assistance. Industry within the state and region
