Student Services

College of Education students planning to teach in early childhood through 12th grades require preparation through the Teacher Education Program. This program provides students with numerous opportunities for hands-on experience through service learning and partnerships with local schools.  

The following is an overview of the teacher preparation process that eventually leads to certification.  Follow the links below or use the navigation on the left to get more information about each topic.

TEACHER EDUCATION ADVISING
Meet with an advisor to discuss career goals and get help designing an academic plan that meets the criteria of your program. 

ADMISSION TO THE TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM
After achieving the pre-requisites for the teacher education program, apply for admission. The screening of all applicants for admission to Teacher Education Programs is the responsibility of the College of Education.

STUDENT TEACHING INTERNSHIPS
A student teaching internship is required for all areas of certifications. 

APPLY FOR DEGREE & PROGRAM COMPLETION 
The application for degree or program completion is due by the end of the semester prior to the semester of graduation/completion.

APPLY FOR EDUCATION CERTIFICATIONS
The application for certification should be filed during your last semester of your program.  Application is through the Idaho State Department of Education.
