Research
In addition to our keen focus on teaching and advising, research is an important function of the College of Education. A significant number of our faculty members are engaged in research activities and in fact the University of Idaho is a Carnegie Research Extensive University. Research projects and efforts happening within our college are having a tremendous impact on how educators teach and how people learn in schools, classrooms, in private business and on athletic fields. Students in all programs are also encouraged to participate in research efforts that closely align to their interest areas and career aspirations.
Making Important Discoveries
For example, Sharon Stoll, Ph.D. and professor in our Department of Movement Sciences, is conducting important research in her Center for Ethics* group (Center for Ethical Theory and Honor in Competition and Sport (ETHICS*). Stroll spoke at the American Football Coaches Association (ACFA) about a program and curriculum she’s creating that will help coaches and teams develop a sense of unity built upon a foundation of character.
