Welcome
Welcome to the Physical Education Teacher Education program, where we take students beyond the classroom and prepare them for a career that incorporates both education and physical activity. The University of Idaho has become the first choice for many students in the PETE program, which has received national accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and is a state approved program. Our students have a 100 percent pass rate on the Praxis exam, taken by individuals entering the teaching profession as part of the certification process, and despite severe cutbacks to the state education system, our graduates experience a nearly 90 percent hiring rate.
