Helen Brown began her career as a public health nutritionist and has worked at the local, Tribal, county and state level to promote public health, particularly in areas of maternal and child health and community development and wellness. Since coming to the University of Idaho, Helen has taught, researched and worked at the community level to increase healthy active living in communities through active travel, nutrition, and health promotion.

Safe Routes to School (SR2S) 2007-present
Collaboration with the City of Moscow Location
Brown and Dr. Goc Karp have worked with the City of Moscow to implement the SR2S program and have key leadership for education, encouragement and evaluation activities.
