Research for Rehabilitation Counseling and Human Services
Dr. Stuntzner's research interests focus on: Forgiveness & Spirituality, Family Coping & Adaptation, Psychosocial Adjustment to Disability, Resiliency & Positive Psychology, Social Justice & Mentoring of Professionals with Disability, Technology Use & Counseling Profession.
Dr. Austin’s research interests include: Clinical Judgment Education and Counselor Bias, Clinical Supervision, Rehabilitation Counselor Professional Identity, and Employment Outcomes for Individuals with Intellectual and Co-occurring Psychiatric Disabilities.
The Rehabilitation Counseling and Human Services is primarily designed to be "practitioner focused" but students are encouraged to participate in research to further their understanding of the professional literature and purpose of counseling research. As a part of the curriculum and course expectations, students may be asked to research and discuss the utility of research as a tool for current and future counselors.
