Application Process

The Rehabilitation Counseling and Human Services program is offered in Coeur d'Alene and Boise. 

The required application package and additional requirements are found on the Office of Graduate Admissions website.

There are approximately 12 slots or positions per location. This means approximately 12 students will be allowed into Coeur d’Alene and 12 into Boise programs. The exception to these figures will only be considered if a geographical location is not able to fill these slots. At that time, additional admissions may be considered case by case. Due to the limited number of positions, early application and commitment to the program is appreciated.

The RCHS program is a two year program, full time. Preference will be given to applicants willing to attend full time. In addition, classes are offered on a given sequence. For course sequence, see Schedule of Courses. It is very important for prospective and current students to understand that courses are only offered once every two years. This means if a student does not take a class or pass one for some reason, they will not be able to take the class again for two more years. Furthermore, this program requires students maintain a 3.0 GPA and must have above a 3.0 to graduate per regulations granted by the College of Graduate Studies. More specifically, this means grades below a “B” are generally not considered passing at the graduate level.

Applicants must complete a prerequisite two-day (1 credit) course, CRC 507: Introduction to Rehabilitation Counseling. The writing assignments from this course are submitted as part of students’ application materials and are one aspect of the admission criteria that is considered.
