Collections

Curriculum Collection
Idaho State adopted elementary and secondary textbooks and curriculum. This collection is a sampling of the curriculum materials adopted by the State of Idaho as acceptable choices for Idaho’s K-12 schools. All areas of the K-12 curriculum are represented. This collection also includes remedial resources and materials for English language learners.

Children’s Collection
Fiction and non-fiction materials for use in the K-12 classroom. This collection includes award-winning books, well-known fiction titles, relevant non-fiction books, paperback sets, and titles used in the UI curriculum.

North Idaho Special Education Library
Books and resources focused on special education topics.

Professional Collection
Books containing a broad spectrum of education related topics. This collection consists of a variety of print resources on assessment, educational philosophy, classroom management, teaching methods, etc.

Dissertation & Thesis Collection
Final written projects of past College of Education students.

Journals
Current education related magazines: Journal of Teacher Education, The Reading Teacher, Teaching Children Mathematics, Phi Delta Kappan and more.

NASA Educational Resource Center
Contains education material produced by NASA, including lesson plans, books, videos, posters, and pictures of space. Many of these items are free or are available for checkout.

NSTA (National Science Teachers Association) Collection
Science related teaching resources.

NIWP and Elinor’s Corner
Writing and reading related teaching resources.

Big Books
Large format picture books and curriculum related supplemental materials.

Art Prints
Reproductions of well-known paintings, pottery, sculpture, etc.

Kit Section
Curriculum materials containing multiple and differing items, i.e. puppets, card sets, math manipulatives.

Reference Section
Dictionaries, encyclopedia, atlas and mapping curriculum materials.

Software & Audio-Visual Section
Curriculum related videos, software and music.

Equipment
Multimedia equipment available for overnight check out. This collection includes laptop computers, cameras, projectors, voice recorders and more.

Reserve
Materials placed in the IMTC by faculty for limited student use.
