Adding & Dropping Classes
Dual credit students may not add or drop classes online because any class change must be approved by a high school counselor.
To add a class, fill out and secure signatures on the Application and Registration for High School Dual Credit form. Submit the form to the Dual Credit Program office and the program coordinator will add the class for you.
To drop a class, send an email to your high school counselor. Ask that they forward your email, along with their approval to dualcredit@uidaho.edu. The dual credit program coordinator will drop the class for you and notify you by email that the drop has been processed.
- A "drop" is when students are taken out of a class within the posted drop/add period of not receiving a grade of W (withdrawal from class). A dropped class is not transcripted.
- A "withdrawal" is when you are taken out of a class after the posted drop/add period (some instructors may withdraw students for nonattendance). A grade of "W" will be transcripted. This will not affect your college grade point average; however you should check your high school's policy on how a W affects your high school grade point average and eligibility for participating in high school activities and programs.
Remember to confirm all your class changes by logging on to www.vandalweb.uidaho.edu.
Dates and deadlines for dropping and withdrawing from classes can be found at the following locations:
Absences
If you are attending classes on the University of Idaho Campus (or online), and you are going to be absent because of a high school related activity, contact the Dean of Students at (208) 885-6757 to get administrative approval. You will need to fill out the application at least two weeks in advance. Once approval has been granted, provide a copy to your instructor(s).
For courses held at the high school, students need to follow school district policy.
Grades & Transcripts
Grades are not mailed to you. Once a grade for any class has been posted, it can be viewed and printed by logging onto VandalWeb, located at www.vandalweb.uidaho.edu, and clicking on:
- Student Information/Registration
- Student Records/Grades/Degree Audit
- Display Final Grades
Grades are recorded on University of Idaho transcripts. You must request a copy of this transcript and forward it to your high school so credit is transferred.
There is a $7 fee for each official copy and a $5 fee for each unofficial copy. For more information, refer to www.registrar.uidaho.edu/transcripts-and-records/transcripts.html.
