How can I get involved?
The diversity related offices and activities at the University of Idaho offer numerous and ongoing opportunities for support and involvement for students, staff, faculty and community members. Some examples of involvement are:
- Joining a student club or organization: In order to do this, we recommend that you learn what you can about the group from resources that are available (websites, friends, etc.) and attend a regularly scheduled meeting to learn if you would like to become more involved.
- Volunteering to implement an activity: The diversity related offices on campus offer many programs and activities. For specific programs such as Black History Month, International Women's History Month or National Coming Out Day (for example), the office presenting the program may require assistance in either planning or implementation. If you are interested in becoming involved in a specific program or activity, contact any of these offices to learn how you can become involved (if you cannot determine which offices are associated with which programs, contact any of us and we will direct you accordingly).
- Volunteering to serve on a committee: Many diversity related activities on campus are supported by the work of a variety of committees. To learn more about these committees, click on the Committees button along the left-hand side of the page. If you are interested in one of these, use the information contained in the link to contact them about possible involvement.
- Drop by and learn more: All of the diversity related offices welcome visitors during regular business hours (M-F 8:00 am - 5:00 pm). The Office of Multicultural Affairs is located in room 230 of the Teaching Learning Center, the Office of Human Rights, Access & Inclusion is located in room 104 of the Administration building, and the Women's Center is located in room 109 of Memorial Gym. We will be happy to meet with you and talk about how to turn your interest into action.
