Student Organizations
The Office of Multicultural Affairs is proud to work with and support a large and growing number of student clubs and organizations. These organizations are governed and led by students, and range from clubs affiliated by ethnic identity and/or academic area to national sororities and fraternal organizations.
Organizations host events and provide opportunities to develop leadership skills and influence campus activities.
All organizations and Multicultural Greek Council members are represented by UNITY, an umbrella organization that promotes and supports each organizations' missions and activities. It shares information about member events, opportunities for collaboration and acts as an advocate on behalf of these united and diverse groups. Learn more about UNITY below.

The University of Idaho African Students Association is an international student group that aims to promote and preserve the cultural heritage of Africa.

The Asian American Pacific Islander Association is made up of, but not limited to, students of Asian American Pacific Islander descent. AAPIA is dedicated to multiculturalism on campus and throughout the community by informing others of the traditional and modern culture of Asian American Pacific Islanders through fun and educational opportunities.

The Association of Latino Professionals of America (ALPFA) provides members with professional tools and skills necessary to survive and succeed in the corporate world. The association serves as an information center for scholastic and occupational opportunities, to place members in the proper environments for success.
ALPFA serves as a mechanism to communicate student needs and problems to the College of Business and Economics. It enables students to enhance themselves academically and culturally.

The purpose of the Black Student Union (BSU) is to support the advancement of black students, promote equality and unity among students on campus, celebrate black heritage and to provide a social atmosphere where students can meet and have open discussion. BSU is open to all students.

College Assistance Migrant Program Organization of Students' (CAMPOS) purpose is to get involved with ASUI activities, reach out to the community through community service, keep former and current College Assistance Migrant Program students involved in cultural activities and serve as a support system for all students.

The mission of the Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) is to promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all people. The GSA strives to encourage individual growth and understanding by improving visibility and providing support for LGBTQ people and their straight allies.

Movimiento Activista Social’s (MAS) mission is to promote and build equal and just communities in Idaho that appreciate the worth and value of all humans. Objectives are based on social justice, human rights, immigrant rights, gender and racial equity, as well as culture awareness and fair access to education.

The Native American Student Association (NASA) is an active cultural organization on campus working to aid, enhance and enrich the educational experience of Native American students. NASA is open to all students who wish to get involved and learn more about Native American culture and issues. Student members meet bi-weekly and sponsor socials throughout the year. During the spring semester, NASA hosts the annual Tutxinmepu Powwow. NASA meets on Wednesday at 5:30 pm in the Native American Student Center.

The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE-UI) is on an unremitting mission to develop and implement programs to advance the Inland Northwest's interest in various engineering disciplines and increase the number of undergraduate and graduate minority students studying science or engineering in our community and at U of I.
We try to reach back into the community and lend a helping hand in the same manner in which we were once assisted.

Organización de Estudiantes Latino Americanos (OELA) is dedicated to increasing the enrollment and retention of Latino students at institutions of higher education as part of a vision to increase the representation of Latinos in industry and education.
OELA works to inform others of the challenges Latino students face on campus today and share successful strategies to increase retention and graduation rates for such students. In addition, OELA strives to share a culture built on a rich tradition of respect and understanding as it helps pave the road for academic excellence for its members and participants of its programs.
Among the many activities OELA is involved with during the academic year, its most recognized and award winning event is the Vandal Challenge Leadership Conference.

Sabor de la Raza is a Mexican folkloric dance group made of University of Idaho students and community members.
The group's goal is to participate in ASUI and community events to provide the University of Idaho and the Palouse community with the opportunity to engage in and experience all aspects of Mexican culture. Through folklore song and dance performances, cultural festivities, among other events, Sabor de la Raza intends to raise awareness of Mexican culture while bringing historical and cultural background into context.

The focus of the University of Idaho Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) chapter is to connect students with opportunities to get involved with undergraduate research and to attend the national SACNAS conferences.

UNITY is an umbrella organization that includes membership from 17 multicultural student organizations, including clubs with cultural, academic, and dance emphasis, as well as multicultural Greek organizations.
UNITY promotes and supports multicultural organizations' missions and activities to share information about member events, provide opportunities for collaboration and advocate on behalf of these united and diverse clubs and organizations.
