Work-Study Orientation Sessions – Pitman Center - Borah Theater - There are several sessions throughout the week, choose what best fits with your schedule. It is highly recommended that new Work Study students attend one of the sessions offered August 18-23 to receive important Work Study information and their referral letters. Students need only attend one session.

Late Night at the Rec at the Student Recreation Center. Join OLs, RAs, and other UI students for Zumba, dodgeball, volleyball and more! Wear athletic shoes.

Join your students’ new college to enjoy coffee and pastries while learning about the facilities, talking with current faculty and staff.

10:30 – 11:30 am

Take tours of campus, the UI Arboretum, and living options on campus. Meet at the Commons Green outside of the Idaho Commons.

11:30 – 1:00 pm

Enjoy lunch with family and friends on the commons green hosted by the President’s Office.

1:00 – 1:45 pm

2:00 – 2:45 pm

Bagel Breakfast for Tower and McConnell residents participating n SYNC Session 1 in front of the Tower. Pick up a bagel before your morning service project!

8:30 – 12:30 pm

SYNC Session 1 - Serve your new community, SYNC, for your first service project as a Vandal! Participate in watershed restoration, food drives, school repairs, and more! Sessions are assigned by living group (see below).

11:00 – 2:00 pm

Grab lunch at Bob’s Place before your afternoon service project.

1:00 – 4:00 pm

SYNC Session 2 - Serve your new community, SYNC, for your first service project as a Vandal! Participate in watershed restoration, food drives, school repairs, and more! Sessions are assigned by living group (see below).

2:00 – 5:00 pm

Non-Traditional and Transfer Student Orientation in the Pitman Center Vandal Ballroom. Designed for students who are 24 or older, have dependents, are parents, have veteran status, and/or are married. We will discuss resources and strategies for being a successful student. Light refreshments will be served. Childcare provided when signing up for New Student Orientation.

5:30 pm

Attend Palousefest for live music, food, games, prizes, activities, an information fair, and more!

Sunday, August 20

Time Event

2:30 – 4:30 pm

Meet up with your Orientation group to scope out where your classes are and learn about the resources available to you on campus.

4:30 – 6:30 pm

Participate in the annual Vandal Walk and President’s Barbecue. Starting inside the Kibbie Dome you will learn the Fight Song and be a part of the class “I” formation photo. President Staben then leads you through campus to the Admin Lawn where faculty and staff from the University are waiting to serve you dinner! This is your official Vandal Walk on to campus!

6:00 pm

Join the LGBTQA Office in the Commons Food Court for an Ice Cream social. Come meet new students, make friends, and learn more about the LGBTQA Office. All are welcome!
