The LGBTQA Office sponsors a variety of programs throughout the year, including annual observances, educational programs, social events, speakers, film screenings and lunch discussions open to UI students, faculty and staff, as well as interested community members.
Allies are welcomed and encouraged to attend any event.
Lavender Lunch & OUTLunch
Take a break and enjoy a free PB&J lunch. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and talk about current events or whatever else is on your mind. Guest speakers hosted every third Thursday of the month.

Students across the country take some form of a vow of silence to call attention to the silencing effect of anti-LGBT bullying and harassment in schools.

To celebrate the lives of transgender people on campus with a week of programming concentrating on transgender issues.
- World AIDS Day - December
An opportunity to unite worldwide in the fight against HIV, show support for those living with HIV and commemorate people who have died from AIDS-related illness.
