“We work to develop the totality of the individual across his or her entire emotional development by fostering the communication and leadership skills that go beyond traditional academics.”—Alton Campbell, Associate Dean of the College of Graduate Studies
Getting Involved
Student clubs and organizations
With more than 200 student organizations ranging in subject from academics to spirituality, the University of Idaho provides you with the opportunity to think, laugh, sweat, succeed, lead and have fun.
GPSA — your gateway to involvement
The Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) plays a key role in promoting leadership development. Representing all non-law graduate and professional students at the University of Idaho, it provides a variety of programs while assisting graduate students during their transition from student life to professional life. The GPSA also provides a collective voice for graduate students to the university and the state. Go to GPSA to learn how you can benefit from this dynamic organization. GPSA can be reached at (208) 885-4772.
Volunteering
Sometimes the best way to help yourself is to help others.
The University of Idaho Volunteer Center is one of many organizations dedicated to engaging students and communities in transformational experiences that develop leadership qualities. By helping students, faculty and staff find ways to serve in the community, the University of Idaho Volunteer Center builds strong collaborative relationships between the University of Idaho and the local community while allowing students to plan service projects and participate in social activism.
International programs
Our nearly 650 international students come from 92 countries. Through fun events such as “Cruise the World,” the university's cultural diversity and international programs are spotlighted as international students share with others the beauty and bounty of their cultural heritage.
