Track Advisor: Matt Morra - Plant, Soil and Entomological Sciences

As the world’s population rapidly expands, so does the demand for sustainable energy and materials. Scientific leaders are needed to develop ideas and technologies to enhance the environmental sustainability and economic viability of our region, nation and globe. This track will create graduates with the unique skills and ingenuity necessary to advance renewable resource industries.

The curriculum will explore current and evolving strategies for producing energy and products from biological materials, including the fundamentals of biomass conversion technologies. Courses will also be offered in natural resource policy and economics, sustainability, food science, plant and soil science, and more.

Track prerequisites: At a minimum, students entering the program in this track are expected to have successfully completed college level introductory courses in biology, chemistry, physics and calculus.
