Month of Innovation
The University of Idaho will celebrate the creative and scholarly achievements of its faculty, staff and students by declaring April the “Month of Innovation.” The Month of Innovation features multiple interdisciplinary events, including participation from the colleges of Graduate Studies, Business and Economics, Engineering and the Office of Undergraduate Research.
The month begins on Saturday, April 9, 2016, with TEDxUIdaho. The student-led program features 20 speakers and performers talking around a central theme of “Cultivating Curiosity.” The Office of Undergraduate Research will host its first Undergraduate Research Symposium for undergraduate students to present their scholarly and creative work. The College of Graduate Studies will have two events in April — its annual Innovation Showcase, and a new Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. The College of Business and Economics’ 2016 Idaho Pitch and Business Plan Competition, and the College of Engineering will hold its annual Engineering Design EXPO April 29, with a special presentation by honorary chair and keynote speaker Tom Mueller, a UI alumnus and co-founder of SpaceX that afternoon.
Our goal is to inform students of the opportunity to showcase some of their amazing work done at the University of Idaho, and to help promote all of the events collectively. Join us for a full month packed with innovative and exciting events!
