Graduate Thesis
Both the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees require a thesis. Students will take research and thesis credits (Neur 500) or research and dissertation credits (Neur 600). The M.S. degree will require at least nine credits of thesis research and the Ph.D. degree will require at least 30 credits.
The M.S. thesis for a Neuroscience degree will demonstrate a high level of scholarly achievement, and the doctoral dissertation will represent a significant, original contribution to the field. It is expected that students will publish their work in appropriate, peer-reviewed venues. Students will present their thesis or dissertation publicly at their final defense.
