TA Support FAQs

COGS has requested additional staff support from the University. Before its request is granted, the current staff members in COGS will try their best to meet the challenges and needs of the new review and approval process.

  1. All TAs are to be issued an offer letter by the recruiting unit with a copy sent to COGS. While you may use a departmental format for the letter, you are strongly encouraged to use one of the templates that are available on the Faculty and Staff Resources webpage (scroll to the bottom section).

  2. All TA EPAFs will continue to be entered by the departments, but the College of Graduate Studies will be added to the approval list for all EPAFs for TA’s beginning with AY 2012-13. A signed offer letter must be on file in COGS prior to review of the EPAF.

  3. Colleges will monitor the use of TA OSTs and periodically inform COGS on the status of usage and needs based on the timeline for implementation.
