Financial Aid & Scholarships

All students are strongly encouraged to explore the range of UI scholarships available.

Prospective Students

Incoming students are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships by submitting a complete Application for Admission with high school/college transcripts and high school test scores. In addition to an Application for Admission, students must submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to be considered for federal financial aid and need-based scholarships. For priority consideration, all applications should be received by February 15.

Current Students

Starting at the sophomore level, Environmental Science students are automatically considered for merit-based undergraduate scholarships. Outstanding students are encouraged to apply to the UI Honors Program, which has many forms of scholarship support. All awards are based on academic merit (including primary consideration of GPA, test scores, and the UHP admission compositions) and also consideration of financial need. Students are encouraged to apply for admission to the UHP prior to the university's February 15 financial aid deadline. If funding is available, strong applications for admission received after February 15 also are considered for UHP scholarship or WUE-rate tuition waiver support.
