As a requirement of Human Resources and the College of Graduate Studies, employment as a Teaching Assistant is contingent upon completion of a mandatory TA Training Institute.
Beginning Fall 2012, the TA Training Institute will be offered in person (on August 16, 2012, 9 am - 12 noon) and supported through the semester, online through Blackboard, starting August 20, 2012.
- Teaching Assistants will have one semester to complete this course (ending December 14, 2012) and it may be taken for credit.
- International Teaching Assistants must register for a specific section: INTR 503-Strategies for International Teaching Assistants
- Failure to complete the course by December 14th (either registered for credit or not) will result in non-renewal of the Teaching Assistantship for spring 2013. Further information on the course will be communicated here and with Teaching Assistants directly during the summer. Exceptional or emergency circumstances that preclude completion of the online course must be petitioned directly to the College of Graduate Studies.
