Letters of recommendation
Several of our graduate programs have recommendation letter forms to use. If the program to which you are applying has a specific form, you can find it here. If the program to which you are applying does not have a form listed here, it means that the department does not require the letter writer to fill out a specific form.
Transcripts and other documents
Your application will not be sent to the department for review until all required documents have been received by the Graduate Admissions Office. If you are currently enrolled in another college or university, you need to submit a current transcript that shows all work completed thus far. If you have attended, or are currently attending the University of Idaho, you do not need to order University of Idaho transcripts. The graduate admissions office will secure the University of Idaho transcripts for you.
GRE
A Graduate Records Examination (GRE) must be taken as part of your application.
TOEFL
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a requirement for applicants whose native language is not English.
Transfer students and international students
The International Programs Office provides additional assistance to international students.
Last, but not least ... are you sure you need to apply?
There are certain cases where you must apply, and others where you don’t need to. For example, if you’ve already attended graduate school here you need not apply again, but you do need to discuss your intentions directly with the department you’ll be working with. On the other hand, even if you’ve been, or currently are, an undergrad at the University of Idaho you still need to apply for grad school. For more details, contact our admissions staff at Morrill Hall 205, PO Box 443019, Moscow, ID 83844-3019, phone (208) 885-4001, fax (208) 885-4406, e-mail gadms@uidaho.edu.
