Biography

Maxine Dakins received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from University of Iowa, a Master of Science in Statistics from University of Wisconsin, and holds a doctorate in Environmental Modeling and Risk Assessment from the State University of New York — College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Maxine is sole proprietor of a statistical consulting firm in addition to her work as a faculty member with UI. She is the primary advisor for Environmental Science students, and teaches several courses, at the University of Idaho Center in Idaho Falls. Her research interests include environmental statistics, environmental decision analysis, probabilistic risk analysis, Bayesian analysis, natural resource policy and law, public participation, and pollution prevention.
