My current research combines traditional telemetry-based monitoring methods with molecular-based approaches to investigate individual movements and population subdivision within the Bi-State population of greater sage-grouse. In addition to genetic samples collected from captured and radio-marked individuals, I am utilizing noninvasive genetic samples (NGS) in the form of fecal pellets and feathers to facilitate comprehensive genetic sampling throughout Mono County, California. Using our radio-marked birds I will also be estimating vital rates (nest success, brood success, and adult survival) to compare between localized populations.
