Who We Are

The Rangeland Center is not a place ... we are a network of people and partners from across Idaho. Though we are based at the University of Idaho, no one department or college can capture the breadth of our disciplinary focus. We span six departments and three colleges. Members include faculty based on the Moscow campus, Extension specialists housed in multiple research and extension centers, and county-based Extension educators who serve local communities.

Our people have expertise in grazing, rangeland ecology, entomology, soil science, economics, rural sociology, fish and wildlife resources, invasive plants, restoration, forage production, animal science, wildland fire and the use of spatial technologies to understand rangelands.

The Rangeland Center operates under the guidance of the deans of College of Natural Resources, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and University of Idaho Extension.
