We’re coming together to tackle our most important social, natural and ecological issues.

Meet Our People

Our People Make the Difference
As a student, you’ll benefit from the connections we’ve built with fellow stewards of the environment, including public agencies, private groups and local businesses. In addition, our faculty, students and alumni are a tight-knit group. Individuals challenge and question each other and collaborate to better understand how we can influence management decisions for a bright, sustainable future.

In fact, the Inland Northwest Forest Products Research Consortium is just one example of this type of large-scale cooperative effort. This group is working to study and define our changing timber resources. The consortium is made up of the University of Idaho Forest Products Department, the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at the University of Montana, and the Wood Materials and Engineering Laboratory at Washington State University.

Distinguished Programs
With help from all these individuals, we are proud of the rock-solid reputation we’ve built as one of the nation’s most distinguished and respected natural resources programs. We offer six master’s degree programs. We also offer one doctoral degree in natural resources, but students choose an emphasis from one of our five departments. We are driven to continue our legacy of excellence in educational instruction, research and discovery, and outreach.
