Dr. Vucetich will discuss what he and his colleagues have learned from decades of field studies on the ecology of wolves and moose on Isle Royale in Lake Superior. This 50-year study provides important insights into the value of long-term research. John has published over 50 papers in top journals that have addressed a variety of topics that influence predator-prey dynamics, including behavioral ecology, foraging ecology, sociality, inbreeding, density-dependence, demographic stochasticity, nutrient cycling, senescence, disease, extinction risk, and policy/advocacy.
