Outreach Program
The McCall Outdoor Science School (MOSS) is proud to offer community-based outreach programs January – May facilitated by MOSS graduate students. Bring MOSS to your school for the very best in inquiry-based science education!
The MOSS Outreach Program offers teams of 2-18 experienced graduate student instructors to facilitate mobile outreach programs in your area. The primary goal of the program is to provide high quality, inquiry-based science education programs throughout the state that focus on community building, problem solving, hands-on learning and science.
Our most popular option is what we call MOSS at Your Place, where we adapt our residential curriculum to locations near your school. We also offer programs in team building, water ecology, landforms, or we can cater to your current classroom topics. All MOSS Outreach units correlate to Idaho State Achievement Standards.

Considerations in planning:
- We like to keep group sizes to 8 – 10 students, which will help you to determine how many instructors to request.
- It’s helpful if you can suggest local natural areas that would be good places to teach.
- Let us know if you will have access to bussing to any of these areas.
- Please see Fee Schedule & Registration for program pricing.
