Minors and Certificates

Sharpen your skills and gain a competitive advantage by earning a certificate or minor along with your College of Natural Resources (CNR) degree. Many of our courses are offered online.

Learn how to apply sound science and solve complex issues facing fire managers with a certificate in Fire Ecology, Management and Technology.

Our Restoration Ecology Certificate program gives you insight into the concepts and application of proven restoration ecology strategies.

For fire professionals, the 401 series courses and programs may help you qualify for the GS-0401 professional series as outlined in IFPM standards.

Our Environmental Education Graduate Level Certificate is for current or future teachers looking to learn more about science and the environment, recent science or natural resource graduates looking for training in education and leadership, or natural resources professional looking for professional advancement.


Students wanting to work toward this certificate program must be admitted to the University of Idaho as a degree-seeking student, and you must formally add the certificate. Once admitted, you may register for courses.
