Field Experience
Most courses in rangeland ecology will include field trips and discussions with rangeland professionals. Four of the rangeland ecology and management core courses include extensive field trips. These unique opportunities give students the chance to expand their knowledge beyond the classroom. Field trips don't just immerse students in hands-on learning, but also create opportunities for you to interact with rangeland managers on the ground and to gain a deeper understanding of real-world rangeland issues.
The faculty members in the University of Idaho Rangeland Center also create field experiences and summer internships for students majoring in rangeland ecology and management. Our faculty and alumni know that it is vital for students to gain work experience and meet rangeland professionals who will help them secure jobs after graduation. Therefore, we work hard to create opportunities and paid internships for students while they learn the trade skills of rangeland management and restoration.
