About the Forest Resources Program

Within the forest resources program we offer a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources  a Master of Sciences in Natural Resources with areas of study in forest resources, as a well as a Ph.D. program. Related programs include fire ecology and management. In addition, many of our faculty members participate in the college-wide ecology and conservation biology program.

Why Forest Resources?
One-third of the nation's land area and 40 percent of Idaho's land area is comprised of forests. With vast natural resources also comes the weighty task of managing the land responsibly.

Our forest resources graduates are asked to navigate this complex environment and balance the many demands placed on forests; from land development and forest products manufacturing and development to recreation and land preservation and water resources.
