Posted Mon, 26 Feb 2018 06:00:00 -0800Spring break is a busy time as Facilities begins clearing sand and gravel from streets, walkways and parking lots. Parking and Transportation Services will post additional information on parking restrictions during this time to facilitate cleanup. Depending on the amount of gravel used, this process can continue to and even past commencement in May. Cleanup activities may throw gravel, requiring extra caution from everyone. Watch for the street sweeper and maintain a safe distance until you are clear to pass. You will also see Landscape staff using blowers and power brooms. Remember, these people are using hearing protection and may not hear or see you approach. Give them a wide berth for your own safety. Learn more and get other safety tips on the I-Safety website. Posted Fri, 23 Feb 2018 14:51:00 -0800The only national touring festival of short films by, for and about women will return to Moscow this March in an event hosted by the University of Idaho Women’s Center. The LUNAFEST Women’s Film Festival will take place Tuesday, March 6, at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre. The festival is produced by LUNA, the women’s nutrition bar, and provides a national platform for independent women filmmakers to share their talents and stories. The Women’s Center will host a pre-screening reception with appetizers at 6:30 p.m. March 6 at the Kenworthy, 508 S. Main St., Moscow. Film screenings begin at 7:30 p.m. This year’s films address topics including women and culture, interpersonal relationships and personal identity. Read more
