• Your core academic coursework may expose you to topics you might like to dive into
• Put yourself out there. Take electives in the College of Natural Resources that will ignite your interests
• Speak up! Talk to peers and professors that share your interests or can expose you to new ideas
• Become part of a team of faculty and graduate students by engaging in larger research projects already in progress
• Do your homework. Locate the ideal candidate to be your mentor and ask if they’d be willing to work with you
