Your senior project will take you on a journey of judicious learning and enthusiastic discovery.
Research & Your Senior Thesis
Opportunities for community and industry outreach are abundant in the ecology and conservation biology program. We feel the research and thesis process is a critical component of our curriculum because it exposes you to peer-peer discovery, collaboration, teamwork, problem solving and networking opportunities.
Senior Project: Theory Meets Practice
Our four-credit senior thesis requirement will prepare you to be a force in the professional world whether you’re headed to graduate school or starting your career. Working with your advisor, you’ll select a current and meaningful research topic that will serve to advance the field's body of knowledge.
Many of our students dedicate hundreds of hours to their senior thesis and tell us their senior thesis project was a transformative experience. Labor-intensive and thought-provoking, your project will give you direction, talking points and the necessary credentials to secure your first job in the field. It can also help frame your approach to graduate school, helping you identify and align your specific scholastic and career goals.
