Welcome to the University of Idaho College of Natural Resources!
Our college has been training natural resources managers for more than 100 years. We are passionate about training students, connecting with managers and stakeholders, and providing leadership for the understanding and stewardship of natural resources.
Much of our success comes from the commitment of our research and teaching faculty, who are renowned for their important work in natural resources. They are also revered for their excellent teaching and dedication to students.
Our college consists of three academic departments, and we offer eight undergraduate majors along with two master’s programs and a doctoral degree program.
Our residential campus location, nestled between Moscow mountain and the beautiful hills of the Palouse, fosters a one-of-a-kind, hands-on learning environment. Through field trips and outdoor labs, you’ll be challenged to apply the fundamentals of your science-based education to our most pressing natural resource concerns.
As we move forward, you will be hearing a lot from me about the importance of experiential learning – training that lets students hit the ground running and provides them with the skill sets they need to make Idaho and the nation globally competitive.
You will also hear from me about the role of the state’s great land grant institution in engaging our citizens, industries and stakeholders in a collaborative manner to
- make Idaho more vibrant economically
- improve education
- sustain the remarkably beautiful landscapes we know and love
I look forward to continuing this great 100-year tradition by creating new opportunities for students to engage in transformational learning experiences that will make them globally competitive and by strengthening our connection to all of the University of Idaho’s alumni and stakeholders.
I invite you to join me in my commitment to make the College of Natural Resources the best in the West!
