CAPE TOWN
~~~~~~~~~
Stadium : Newlands
Capacity: 50,000
Altitude: Sea-level
Opened  : 1890
Remarks : Is the oldest of South African grounds. Home of the Western
  Province Rugby Union. Newlands is the second oldest test venue in
  the world, with Ireland's Lansdowne Road being the oldest.
  Has undergone rebuild to increase seating capacity by 8,000.
STELLENBOSCH
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stadium : Danie Craven Stadium
Capacity: 16,000
Altitude: Sea-level
Opened  : 1979
Remarks : Picturesque venue surrounded by glorious mountain views, and
  vineyards. Tends to be very wet. (About 30km inland from Cape Town.)

PORT ELIZABETH
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stadium : Boet Erasmus Stadium
Capacity: 45,000
Altitude: Sea-level
Opened  : 1960
Remarks : Third oldest stadium in the country. A great many hospitality
  suites, which reduced seating by some 11,000. Close by the
  city centre. The home of Eastern Province.
EAST LONDON
~~~~~~~~~~~
Stadium : Basil Kenyon Stadium
Capacity: 22,000
Altitude: Sea-level
Opened  : 1934
Remarks : Renamed in 1991 to honour one of Border's greatest sporting
  heroes. Kenyon captained the Springbok side in the fourth
  and last test against Fred Allen's 1949 All Black side and
  the 1951/52 side to tour the UK. Almost in the middle of the
  city, but has a small town atmosphere similar to the average
  New Zealand stadium.

DURBAN
~~~~~~
Stadium : King's Park Stadium
Capacity: 60,000
Altitude: Sea-level
Opened  : 1957
Remarks : The most intimate of South African stadiums. 5Km away from
  the city centre. Recently refurbished.
BLOEMFONTEIN
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stadium : Free State Stadium
Capacity: 40,000
Altitude: 1500m
Opened  : 1955
Remarks : Rebuilt completely - previous All Blacks would not recognize

  stadium. The most rural of all South African cities. (About 400km
  south of Joburg.)

JOHANNESBURG
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stadium : Ellis Park
Capacity: 70,000
Altitude: 1600m
RUSTENBURG
Stadium : Olympia Park
Capacity: 30,000
Altitude: 1200m
