Meet The Players
Quinn HatchMember since: Fall 2009What first attracted you to improv? Improv was my life in undergrad. It's all I wanted to do or talk about. So, when I graduated, I got a chance to take classes at the Upfront Theater in Bellingham, Wash., and with Improv Vegas. Both were great experiences. I didn't want to stop improving when I got to UI. I saw an improv show as a freshman at WSU. I knew I wanted do something like that ever since. So, I started White Tie. It grew from there. Most memorable White Tie moment? The first White Tie rehearsal. I didn't know if anyone would be interested, or if anyone would show up. |

Member since: Fall 2010 What first attracted you to improv? I was first attracted to improvising after watching a friend of mine in a White Tie show. I figured I could do it if I tried and started coming to practice. Plus, I'm working on a theater major and figured the improv experience would complement that nicely. Most memorable White Tie moment? |

Chance RushWhat first attracted you to improv?I was first attracted to improv by the purity of it. I've been doing improv for maybe 10 years now, and it's been an amazing experience. It's been a way to use my practical theatre training for non-practical performance. Most memorable White Tie moment? Improvisational theater can move people to tears and make people laugh the next minute. White Tie has been a great experience and has helped me improve my skills as a performer. Every time the audience laughs or releases a sigh, the feeling that it produces makes me feel as if my time on stage has been worthwhile. |

Hannah WhisenantMember since: Fall 2011What first attracted you to improv? Most memorable White Tie moment? Since I've started doing improv, I'm less afraid to make a fool of myself. It's loosened me up, and I can express myself more freely with strangers and friends alike. While in the beginning it was frustrating, now it's like meditating, almost. You get into the zone, you immerse yourself, you focus, concentrate, and the world outside disappears. And that's the coolest thing about improv... for me. |
