Students have the opportunity to practice their skills in a variety of theaters, featuring state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems. The Hartung Theater also contains fully-equipped shops for scenic and costume construction.
HARTUNG THEATER
The 417-seat Hartung Theater, built in 1973, is an intimate space in which to experience theatre. It is one of two main stages for academic productions, as well as being the home of Idaho Repertory Theatre, UI's resident professional summer theatre company.

- A semi-thrust proscenium stage which is trapped and features an orchestra pit
- Two backstage and two vomitory entrances
- ETC dimmer /circuit digital lighting and an inventory of 200 lighting fixtures and 6 intelligent lighting fixtures controlled by a Whole Hog IPC.
- Digital sound system controlled by a Yamaha OM1-V
- Five over house catwalks, stage right & stage left cheek positions, 3 over stage electrics, and far upstage cyclorama and strip light lighting positions

The backstage includes fully-equipped shops for both set and costume construction, prop storage, dressing rooms and makeup studios. The front-of-house features two small galleries for display of production designs and a spacious lobby that functions as an art gallery during production runs.
KIVA THEATER
The Kiva Theater is a 120 seat multi-configurable space located off the second floor of the University of Idaho Education Building.

THE ARENA THEATER
The Arena is a 50-seat performance studio theater managed and operated by the student theatre organization for showcasing student work in a black box setting. Under the name Sixth Street Productions, the students produce a four-production season of contemporary and experimental work.
SHOUP HALL
Shoup Hall is the Theatre Arts' Department's home base. Located inside are faculty/administrative offices, performance/rehearsal studios, design labs and a student lounge.
