Three Strikes to First opens Jan. 31

Three Strikes to First | FINAL WEEKEND!

It's pre-season, but the University of Idaho Department of Theatre Arts is ready to play ball – on stage, that is.

The department will present Three Strikes to First, written by UI Master of Fine Arts graduate Quinn Hatch.

Looking to escape a failing marriage, Matt, general manager for the Seattle Sun Dodgers, finds himself in Peoria, Ariz. He’s in town early putting the finishing touches on player contracts, but despite his efforts, Matt’s varied past is difficult to dodge. Especially when an old player has just received the publisher’s green light to write a rather revealing book outlining steroid use on the team. The book is all access. He’s naming names, and one of them is Matt’s new star first baseman.

The show plays 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31-Feb. 2 and Feb. 7-9 with matinees at 2 p.m. Feb. 3 and 10. All shows are held in the UI Hartung Theater on the corner of Sixth Street and Stadium Drive.

General admission is $10.  Admission is free for UI students. Tickets are $8 for UI faculty and staff and WSU students. For tickets, call the UI Kibbie Dome Ticket Office at (208) 885-7212. Tickets can also be purchased online or at the box office the night of the show.
