Department of Theatre Arts

The University of Idaho Department of Theatre Arts is dedicated to promoting a rich learning environment that combines group learning, individualized mentoring by a dedicated faculty and numerous real world production opportunities that prepare students to enter the theatre industry. 

The department is vibrant, diverse and committed to providing the Northwest’s most affordable and competitive undergraduate and graduate training in the areas of acting, directing, dramatic writing, design and technology.

The department is also proud to be affiliated with resident summer professional theatre company the Idaho Repertory Theatre and with the renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival, which sponsors the Rex Rabold Fellowship.
