The University of Idaho award winning Theatre Arts Department has produced quality creative dramatics on campus since 1928. It is is committed to promoting a rich learning environment which combines group learning, individualized mentoring by a dedicated faculty, and numerous real world production opportunities that prepares students to enter the theatre industry.
With over 100 students and 12 faculty and staff, the department is vibrant, diverse, and committed to providing the Northwest’s most affordable and competitive undergraduate and graduate training in the areas of acting, directing, dramatic writing, design and technology.
The department is also proud to be affiliated with the resident summer professional theatre company the Idaho Repertory Theatre and with the renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival who sponsors the Rex Rabold Fellowship.
