Advanced Study of Human Culture

This program provides the advanced graduate training and research you need to pursue a professional career in anthropology. Study general anthropology, archaeology, physical anthropology and ethnology, lead independent research and complete a thesis in your area of choice. Students have opportunities to work alongside faculty in the field and in the Laboratory of Anthropology.

  • Professional experience gained through work on faculty research projects, in the Laboratory of Anthropology and field schools.
  • Many students present at professional conferences and several have co-authored articles with faculty.
  • Many students obtained employment as anthropologists with government agencies and private contracting firms and pursue doctoral programs.
