Martin Institute for Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution

The University of Idaho's Martin Institute for Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution is an interdisciplinary research, teaching and service center founded for the purposes of advancing research and teaching into the causes of conflict and peaceful resolution.

The institute brings together scholars, students, and present and future leaders to develop the knowledge needed for the ongoing and new challenges of establishing peace as a basis for long-range social and economic progress.

The Martin Institute’s signature programs include:

• Martin Forums: A series of public forums featuring a variety of speakers on international topics.
• William Edgar Borah Outlawry of War Foundation: This separately endowed foundation presents the Borah Symposium, an annual program on the general theme of the causes of war and the conditions necessary for a lasting peace.
