Communication Studies Minor
Communication Studies is a social science discipline that considers how people verbally and nonverbally communicate at the individual, societal, and cultural levels. It can be seen as the discipline that links other disciplines; a discipline that is vital if people, organizations, and governments are to cope with today's complex world.
The minor offers theory-based, research-oriented, and applied training in interpersonal, organizational, and intercultural communication and other courses in areas associated with communication studies. Teaching and research activities are designed to broadly include community service and a focus on ethical communication in multicultural settings. The Communication Studies minor prepares students for careers in business, government and politics, high technology industries, health, and social and human services.
