Mikaela Marlow conducts research exploring identity and esteem issues, as they influence communication within and across diverse language, cultural and community collectives. She is currently working on modifying the Receiver Model of Language Criticism and the Criticism Response Scale, both of which she developed while researching speech criticism in Hawai'i.
