Vandaleers invited to perform at NAfME Conference

The Vandaleers Concert Choir has been invited through refereed auditions to perform for over 2,000 registered conference attendees for the Northwest Division of the National Association for Music Education in Portland, Oregon. This regional conference features the very best performers and clinicians and serves as professional development for music teachers who want to enhance their skill sets in rehearsal techniques, literature, pedagogy, and technology.

"The University of Idaho Vandaleers Concert Choir is the only university choir from Idaho and one of two university choirs from the region invited to perform at the NAfME Conference. This invitation to perform for the music teachers of the Northwest is an extreme honor," said Dr. Michael Murphy, conductor of the Vandaleers.

Since Murphy was hired in 2008, he has conducted the Vandaleers in state and northwest concerts, as well as a two-week tour of Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic. The Northwest Division Conference performance will be February 15, 2013 at Benson Technical Auditorium on the corner of NE 12th Street and NE Irving Street from 10:15-10:45 a.m..

The concert is open and free to the public on a first come, first serve basis.
