University Wind Ensemble
The University Wind Ensemble (MusA 320/520), directed by Professor Alan Gemberling, is open to all students by audition. It is comprised of about fifty undergraduate and graduate students, and performs the finest in concert band and wind ensemble literature. The group has traveled extensively throughout the United States. The Wind Ensemble rehearses four hours per week.
Monday/Wednesday 4:30 - 5:45 p.m.
AUDITION INFORMATION: Wind Ensemble and Orchestra Winds and Percussion
Auditions (except for percussion) occur early in the first week of classes (by end-of-day Wednesday). Students audition for the professor of their instrument. Sign-up sheets for auditions will be placed on faculty doors by noon on Monday. Students should be prepared to play an etude or solo piece, scales and sight-reading.
