The University of Idaho has the following non-auditioned and auditioned choirs:
MusA 365, CE: 25 (simple audition)
Audition consist of pitch matching, scales and singing “America”/“My Country ‘Tis of Thee”
Men’s Chorus rehearses Wednesdays at 2:30-3:20 pm and serves as a musical outlet for all UI men, who enjoy the camaraderie of singing. The group performs a wide variety of musical styles both serious and light.
Corequisite: Singers must be a member of University Chorus or Vandaleers Concert Choir.
MusA 117/317/317 (no audition necessary)
University Chorus rehearses MWF 2:30-3:20 pm and is open to all interested singers across campus. Music reading skills are helpful, but not required. This ensemble performs a variety of literature from masterworks to contemporary music.
Vandaleers Concert Choir
MusA 116/316/516 (audition)
Audition consists of a prepared solo that best reflects the singer’s expressive and musical capabilities - accompanist will be provided, sight singing, rhythms, tonal memory, and range/tessitura)
The Vandaleers Concert Choir rehearses MF 12:30-1:20 and TR 12:30- 1:45 pm. The Vandaleers is made up of talented music majors and nonmusic majors and serves as the premiere choral ensemble of the School of Music at the University of Idaho. The Choir performs noteworthy choral repertoire from throughout the Western Music canon, with emphasis on unaccompanied works, recently composed works, and Baroque and Classical masterworks (with instruments).

Women’s Chorus rehearses Wednesdays at 2:30-3:20 pm and serves as a musical outlet for all UI women who performs diverse literature written for women’s voices. The group performs a wide variety of musical styles both serious and light. Co-requisite: Singers must be a member of University Chorus or Vandaleers Concert Choir.

Jazz Choir I: MusA 118/318/528 (no audition necessary)
Jazz Choir II: MusA 365 (audition on a limited basis)

Jazz Choir I is the large choir of nearly two hundred singers that performs custom choral arrangements of various styles with the assistance of fifteen to twenty instrumentalists. Meets MWF 3:30 - 4:30 pm.
Jazz Choir II is a highly select small vocal jazz ensemble, specializing in close harmony arrangements and choral versions of instrumental jazz standards. With some exceptions, singers in Jazz Choir II are selected from the membership of Jazz Choir I. Meets MW 5:45 - 6:50 pm.
