Abstract: Only 37% of four-year educational institutions in the US currently use human cadavers as study specimen in undergraduate coursework, one of which includes the UI. This discussion will encompass the use of human cadavers in undergraduate courses across the US, the application of the 1988 Uniform Anatomy Act to educational body donation and the specifics of the undergraduate anatomy cadaver lab based at the UI. Following the discussion, opportunities will be provided for attendees to view UI cadavers as well as specimen typically used in undergraduate coursework at other institutions.
